2008 Ford Mustang Bullitt — Dark Highland Green, One Owner, No Accidents

Ford built 7,700. Then the color was retired.

The Bullitt isn't a stripe package. Ford took the GT Premium, deleted the badges, deleted the spoiler, deleted the fog lamps, and left one piece of identification on the entire car: a small gun-sight medallion on the faux fuel cap. Underneath, it got a Ford Racing-inspired sealed cold-air intake, a recalibrated tune worth 315 horsepower and 325 lb-ft against the standard GT's 300 and 320, a redline raised 250 rpm to 6,500, the GT500's 3.73:1 rear axle, retuned suspension, and a five-speed manual — the only transmission Ford ever put in a Bullitt. A wolf in sheep's clothing was the actual design brief.

This one is Dark Highland Green — the Bullitt-exclusive color, a nod to Steve McQueen's 1968 fastback, offered on only one other Mustang in history. It has had one owner since 2008, spent its entire life in Alabama, and CARFAX reports no accidents and no damage of any kind. That is an uncommon sentence to write about an eighteen-year-old V8 Mustang.

Pricing a Bullitt is not the same as pricing a Mustang, and we want to be straight with you about how we got to our number.

The book value is misleading here. CARFAX's History-Based Value on this vehicle comes back at $11,560 — but that figure is generated against a standard 2008 GT Premium. Automated valuation tools do not recognize limited-production special editions. They see a 4.6L V8 Mustang coupe with 128,000 miles. They do not see one of 7,700 cars in a retired, model-exclusive color with a factory power bump and a GT500 rear end.
