Seller's Notes

1953 Cadillac Series 62 Coupe DeVille With the exception of later Eldorados and Biarritz models, it's argued that the Series 62 Cadillac of 1950 to 1953 is the luxury carmaker's post war pinnacle of excellence. During this four year design run, Cadillac offered its customers better build quality, more elegant styling and, perhaps most importantly, a V8 engine. These and other attributes, introduced in what can be described as a sometimes fickle market, helped Cadillac quickly establish itself as the luxury company to beat, surpassing longtime rival Packard for the number one slot, while Lincoln and Imperial lagged behind. Hemmings, Sept. 2025 For consignment, a 1953 Cadillac Series 62 Coupe DeVille showing 8,125 miles, but the true miles are unknown due to a PA title exemption. This was the recipient of a recent restoration, is garage kept, and retains its numbers matching engine. Exterior It wears its original color but now presents with two stage quality and application, a gleaming Artisan Ochre motorcar with an Emerald Green Metallic roof, but it's the rear quarter that might be this car's feature of distinction; full front trim that emulated aircraft intake followed by elongated panels broadened by fender skirts and capped by corner taillights that double as rounded fins. Between them is a covered Continental kit on an oversized rear bumper with exhaust ports built in and the whole thing is a work of art. Big chrome lives up front too, capped by Dagmar bumpers, light rings, and a gold crest under flying lady ornament. Side spears and robust wire wheel covers finish the dressing of the elegant ride. Imperfections include some chipping paint, minor chips and inclusions, and oxidation in the gold emblem. Interior Stylishly designed, the door panels combine glossy green patterned inserts, brushed nickel hardware and ribbed kick panels and both doors present cleanly. The patterned insert tan cloth continues on the split bench where it is accompanied by green leather and both front and rear are in very nice condition. The rear passengers are afforded a panel with electric window controls, cigarette lighter, and obligatory ashtray with sliding top. Various greens color the steering wheel and front a beautiful dash with striped design mid panel and art deco style arching speedometer with well designed and integrated windows for other information. To the right you'll find an AM radio and impossibly rectangular clock that is stylish and functional. Green colors the carpet below and headliner above while tan patterned material lines the footwells in a nice attention to detail. A large trunk has a canvas type covering which shows some use and age. Drivetrain Here's a show worthy version of the numbers matching 331ci V8 under the hood with 210 horsepower and a 4-barrel carburetor. It's backed by a Hydramatic 4-speed automatic transmission sending power to the rear axle with 3.07 gears. The car has power brakes and power steering. We note the right side hood hinge sprung and closing must be done with care. Undercarriage Clean conditions are found underneath where the dual exhaust flows through stock style mufflers on their epic journey to the bumper fed exit. Power drum brakes are on all four wheels and suspension consists of coil springs in front and leaf springs in back. Drive-Ability The original land yacht glides over the test loop in fine fashion and provides a smooth, comfortable ride with adequate power and straight tracking. Some issues with the windows are found including the left rear power window and right front power window do not work and the driver's front power window does not go up. All other functions operate as they should. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase. One of the great American classics, the '53 Cadillac and its iconic shape is instant
