2004 Cadillac XLR Roadster A key element in its strategy is a flagship car, which is the role assigned to the XLR on these pages. Sexy, powerful two seat convertibles provide ideal showcases for advanced technology, and they draw enthusiast attention to boot. Besides, just about every design theme shows off better when it is applied to a body that is long, low, and topless. Car and Driver, June 2003. For consignment, a 2004 Cadillac XLR Roadster with a title verified 19,646 actual miles. This is a one family car since new and always garage kept. If you've been waiting for a low mileage XLR to hit our page, here's a fine example of a unique and special luxury sports car. Exterior The XLR's sharp edges of this two seater are coated in Light Tarnished Silver Metallic paint but our guess is this car would look good in any color. Its wide and low stance emulates that of the Corvette but with the corner headlight, expansive narrow grille, and angular tail lights, its familial profile clearly says Cadillac. The steeply raked windshield is also very Vette like and it's as if someone took the beautiful DeVille of the era and made a show worthy smashburger out of it. 18-inch wheels fit the profile to a tee and carry ZR rated tires with supportive sidewalls made for turns. The most obvious nod to the car's Corvette roots is the center exit quad exhaust which finishes off the car's aggressive rear that includes an integrated third brake light. The body and paint are excellent with a few imperfections noted as light scratches, scuffs, minor inclusions, and minimal chin scrapes. Interior The door panels include a touch of wood on the pull handle, surrounded by Ebony leather and a trim plate on the switchgear and a vent with a screen like design and both doors present nicely. The black leather bucket seats are decidedly less sporty than a Corvette, applying more luxurious padding but still providing side support and both look great. The Bulgari-designed interior includes more Eucalyptus wood trim on the top of the steering wheel that frames a straightforward instrument cluster in elegant white on black configuration while the center stack is framed in the screened nickel design and houses a touch screen for the AM/FM/CD/DVD/XM capable sound system and navigation. The A/C panel is next with orange backlit digits and the center console has glossy wood that even extends to dress the shifter. Charcoal carpet floods the floor and covers the small trunk space in the back and the entire interior is in immaculate condition. Drivetrain The hood opens in the traditional way and reveals the fuel injected 4.6 liter Northstar V8 with 320 horsepower. It's mated to a 5L50E 5-speed automatic transaxle joining 2.93 gears in back. The bay wears a large shroud and presents cleanly. Undercarriage Consistent with its low mileage, the XLR's underside is very clean and housing dual exhaust running through original equipment muffler and chrome tips. Power disc brakes are at all four wheels and suspension consists of coil springs up front and a transverse leaf spring with independent arms in back. Drive-Ability Though 24 years old, this car still feels young and relevant. The cabin is comfortable and handsome and the car itself proves to be very capable on the test loop, doing everything well and never missing a beat. All functional items on this well preserved example operate as they should. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase. It's possible that XLR's have not realized their full potential in the collector market but we think things are looking up. Less than 4,000 were produced in 2004, its inaugural year, and great examples like this one are getting harder to find and are most often seen as participants in car shows. 1G6YV34A045603941 1-USA G-General Motors 6-Cadillac YV-X
