Few modern American performance cars capture the end of an era quite like this 2001 Pontiac Trans Am Ram Air WS6 Convertible. Finished in Bright Red over an Ebony interior with a black convertible top, this highly collectible WS6 represents the final generation of Pontiac's legendary Firebird and is among the most desirable examples available today. With just 37,800 original miles and one-owner ownership from new, this Trans Am has been meticulously preserved and remains completely unmodified. According to Trans Am World records, only 146 examples were produced in this exact color and trim combination, making it an exceptionally rare find. Additionally, 2001 was the lowest production year of the fourth-generation Firebird, further enhancing its collectability.
Power comes from Pontiac's legendary LS1 5.7L V8 producing 325 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque, paired with a smooth-shifting 4L60E automatic transmission. The coveted Ram Air WS6 Performance Package adds aggressive styling, functional Ram Air induction, a performance-tuned suspension, and a 3.23 rear axle with a Torsen-style limited-slip differential, creating one of the most capable American muscle cars of its era.
This Trans Am has been treated with exceptional care throughout its life. It has been garage-kept since new, never driven in snow, never machine washed, and has never required bodywork. Protective Colgan front-end and mirror covers have been used since new, helping preserve the paint and preventing road rash. The original padded convertible top remains in outstanding condition and features a heated glass rear window, while the original hard-shell convertible boot cover is included.
The car rides on its original 17-inch WS6 wheels wrapped in newer OEM-size BFGoodrich tires, all showing no curb rash. Maintenance has been equally impressive, including a complete fluid service at 36,018 miles covering the transmission, coolant, brake system, rear differential, and power steering system. During that service, both axles and rear wheel bearings were also replaced. A fresh dealer oil change has recently been completed, and the battery was replaced in March 2025. A full set of Pontiac/GM factory shop manuals accompanies the sale.
As one of the last great Pontiac performance cars, this WS6 Convertible offers an outstanding combination of rarity, originality, low mileage, and documented one-owner history. Whether destined for a collection, weekend cruising, or Pontiac enthusiast ownership, this Trans Am stands as a remarkable survivor from the final years of American muscle car greatness.
