Chevrolet launched the Advance Design series in 1947 as its first all-new post-war truck, and the design was a meaningful step forward in every way. The 1951 model received new Ventipane door vent windows, replacing the old side cowl vents of earlier examples, a small detail that made the cab noticeably more pleasant to spend time in. The interior is honest and straightforward, exactly what a truck of this era and this character should be.
The Advance Design trucks have become one of the most sought-after platforms in the classic truck world. Their proportions are considered by many to be the most balanced and handsome of any American pickup before or since, and clean examples in classic colors with the right chrome details have been climbing steadily in value for years.
