1966 Jaguar Mark II

1966 JAGUAR “3.8S” SALOON # P1B78604BW. (Stock #4462.) The 3.8S Jaguar saloon was introduced as a more sporting sedan than the MK II which preceded it–a 4-door XKE as some people referred to the car. Unlike the MK II, it had an independent rear end, as did the XKE, 4-wheel disc brakes, a fully synchronized 4-speed manual floor shift transmission, a 9:1 compression, twin cam, twin carburetor 6-cylinder “gold head” engine and all of the lovely luxury features which Jaguar was known for doing extremely well. A full leather interior with folding center arm rests, front and rear, beautiful polished walnut facia and trim, 15” chrome “knock-off” wire wheels, opening side vent windows, front and rear, etc. surround the occupants with comfort and luxury and the XKE underpinnings create a truly exhilarating experience for the driver. Seat belts have been fitted–3 sets to the rear and 2 to the front, new Semperit 185HR15 radial tires are fitted to the wire wheels, and a Pioneer AM-FM/CD stereo system has been installed with no alterations to the interior. The car is gorgeous in Tudor Grey with new cream leather. We obtained the car form its long-time local (Mendham) owner 8 years ago and sold it to another New Jersey enthusiast in 2018, then with 88,898 miles. He drove all of his collector cars minimally, driving this one just less than 1,000 miles during his ownership. Current mileage: 89,858. $42,000.
