This one retains a period correct drivetrain. Exterior It's a fine shine provided by two stage Marina Blue, paint code FF for those keeping track, and the original color the car was born with. It's a great color that plays well with all the polished stainless and chrome on the car, including the rocker trim, wheel opening accents, and the chrome  bumpers found at both ends. The rear is quintessential muscle car with a band of black connecting narrow tail lights but not without a Chevelle callout stretched across it. Below, two exhaust tips point to the corners and above, flying buttress corners cap off the C-pillars that surround a slightly raked rear window. The front's clean design is topped off by simulated vents on the hood that theoretically cater to both sides of the V-shaped engine. It's letters out for the tires around the 15-inch Chevrolet Rally wheels and all look clean. Imperfections include some chips, cracking paint, scratches, chips in the chrome plating on a bumper, evidence of some filler, and some scratches in the glass. Interior Simple, clean, and of course, reproducible was the name of the game and it starts with handsome black door panels with nice trim and hardware and both doors present well. The bucket seats are also fashioned from black vinyl and along with the rear bench, are in impeccable condition. The brown plastic steering wheels show some cracks in the rim but the spokes remain in nice shape, fronting a sweep style speedometer while the column is positioned next to a vintage tachometer. New meets old as an AM/FM/CD player is in the center over the original A/C control panel. A racy looking clock is embedded in the center console where you'll also find the legendary Hurst shifter offset to the left for easier driver reach. Clean black loop carpet fills the floor and the headliner remains high and tight. The trunk is showroom clean with a small mat, a spare tire, amplifier, battery, and battery shut off.  Drivetrain Okay, let's visit the big boy now. Here's a period correct 396ci V8 with a few modifications including an Erson camshaft, Edelbrock intake, a Holley 4-barrel carburetor, and plenty of polished components. It's backed by a period correct Muncie M20 4-speed manual transmission and power is routed to the 12 bolt in back. The car has headers, power brakes, power steering, and air conditioning.  Undercarriage We've got clean conditions underneath with an especially attractive dual exhaust system that meet at an X-pipe and flow through stainless mufflers from Stainless Works, and finding the atmosphere via flat cut exhaust tips. Power brakes are supplied as front disc and rear drum and suspension consists of coil springs at both ends with a 4 link in back. Drive-Ability Let's face it; ergonomics and materials have come a long way since the 60's. But the simple design and uncomplicated interior is part of the appeal of classic cars. Then you turn the key and any concern for creature comforts exits your thinking. The sound, the power, the visceral feel; it's all provided by this fantastic Chevelle. The tachometer, odometer, and revers
