Seller's Notes

1967 Buick Riviera Hardtop Riviera is a hallowed name in Buick history, and while it was originally applied to GM's first hardtop version of the 1949 Roadmaster, a sister car to the Cadillac Coupe de Ville and Oldsmobile 98 Holiday, it came to prominence as its own model for the 1963 model year. This new car represented General Motors' design department at the top of its game; it was a clean sheet reimagination of a premium Buick coupe created by stylist Ned Nickles and his team of designers and modelers, under the careful direction of vice president of design Bill Mitchell. For consignment, a 1967 Buick Riviera hardtop showing 7,105 miles, but the true miles are unknown due to a PA title exemption. This is a two owner car that comes to you with the original window sticker and glove box punch card from General Motors. Exterior Undeniably some of the most exciting designs from GM came in the form of Rivieras which went through numerous iterations including this incredible two year design which maintains the familial side profile, but caps it with a sleek grille and quad headlights that drop down, flanked by fixed marker lights on outer wings. The configuration is mirrored in part by the tail light panel which stretches end to end, breaking only for the license plate and framed by the chrome bumper and polished trim. This example wears its single stage Gold Mist very well and the elongated C-pillar seamlessly melds with the hips of the rear fender to show off the color even more. 15-inch Buick Rally wheels wear 215/75R15's with a mid 2024 date code and appropriate narrow white wall design. Imperfections include a few chips, cracks, scratches, inclusions, and small areas of crazing but virtually nothing you can see at any distance. Interior Personal luxury meant smooth black vinyl and robust chrome trim on the door panels, elegant and artful with brushed nickel faceplates for the switchgear, the Riviera R, and both doors present in beautiful condition. The pleated design of the split bench is also fine grain black vinyl and both front and rear are immaculate. Distinctive T-shaped spokes connect a thin black rim of the steering wheel leading to a perfect dash with square gauges flanking a barrel style speedometer. The original AM/FM radio is in place along with the A/C panel and various cabochon-like toggle switches. Black looped carpet covers the floor along with vintage Buick branded mats while the headliner and visors appear showroom fresh. In keeping with the theme, even the fully finished trunk presents flawlessly. Drivetrain Just some light tinges of age show in this clean bay where a 430ci V8 resides, capable of an impressive 360 horsepower and fueled by a 4-barrel carburetor. It's mated to an ST300 2-speed automatic transmission that routes power to the 10 bolt rear axle. This luxury cruiser has power brakes, power steering, and air conditioning. Undercarriage There is some time induced surface rust around and a film of oil on the pans and rear differential, but the underside is otherwise clean and complete. The clean dual exhaust system contours to the X-brace and runs through stock style mufflers and resonators on its way to an unceremonious exit behind the bumper. Components include power drum brakes at all four wheels and coil springs front and rear with a 3 link and a panhard bar out back. Drive-Ability It's time to take this time capsule for a spin and a tap of the gas and turn of the key is enough to wake the big 430 and roll this Riv onto the test loop where it provides good power, straight tracking, and great visibility despite sizable C-pillars and we'd kill for a right side mirror! We noticed the clock, power antenna, left rear power window, and the speed alert warning not working, the latter of which you'll just have to self monitor! All other functions on this classic Buick work as they should. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our
