INTRODUCTION: This is an extremely rare and highly desirable Mustang. The included Marti Report documents it as a genuine S-code 390 GT with a factory 4-speed, and when you add the beautiful Gulfstream Aqua paint with the Deluxe Parchment interior, it becomes one of just 74 built with this combination. It's been restored to a very high standard, including a rebuilt drivetrain, and presents beautifully throughout. EXTERIOR: It is absolutely stunning. It has the timeless styling that made the 1968 Mustang an icon, enhanced with the optional louvered hood for an even more aggressive look. Refinished in its original Gulfstream Aqua, the metallic paint is laid out beautifully over a clean, straight body, and the clear coat has been polished to a deep, glossy shine. The appearance is further enhanced with hood stripes, C-stripes along the sides, and all of the proper GT trim, including the GT emblems and fog lamps. The chrome and stainless trim are bright and shiny throughout, complementing the beautiful paint. It rides on a new set of 15x7 chrome GT wheels wrapped in fresh BFG tires, giving the car the perfect muscle car stance.
INTERIOR: The factory Parchment Deluxe interior really puts this GT over the top! Against the Gulfstream Aqua exterior, it has a classic, upscale look that's hard to beat. The seats have been reupholstered and recushioned and are equipped with the optional headrests. Being a Deluxe Interior car, it features new upgraded door panels and attractive woodgrain trim throughout the cabin. It also has both the optional upper and lower consoles, and the factory 4-speed shifter coming through the console is a huge plus. The deluxe steering wheel has been replaced, along with the dash bezels that surround the tachometer and clock. Fresh carpet covers the floor, a new headliner finishes the ceiling. The original looking AM radio has been upgraded with a retro style stereo.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Powering this Mustang is what we believe to be its original 390-320hp V8, carrying the correct casting numbers and date code. It has been completely rebuilt, including being bored .030 over with new pistons. The engine compartment is very nicely detailed with a clean, factory correct appearance. All of the components look fresh, proper, and complete. It features power steering and power brakes, making this Mustang a pleasure to drive. It retains the correct fan shroud, the windshield washer system is hooked up, and even the horns are functional. All of the metal surfaces have been refinished and presents themselves exceptionally well. It still has the correct fan shroud, the windshield washer squirters are hooked up and the horns are working.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Under the trunk lid and in the jamb, the finish is just as glossy as the exterior, having been painted at the same time as the body. Inside you'll find clean, solid metal finished with the correct spatter paint. It's neatly finished off with a quality carpeted trunk mat featuring bound edges, giving the trunk a clean, finished appearance.
UNDERSIDE: It is clean, detailed, and rebuilt. The steering and suspension have been completely rebuilt, including the steering system itself. Upgraded with air shocks in back. The brake system has been completely redone and upgraded with Wilwood front drilled and slotted disc brakes. The emergency brake assembly is complete and properly hooked up and the fuel system has been replaced. A dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers exits through the correct GT quad tips in the rear valance, giving it the sound to match its appearance. Looking up at the drivetrain, the engine is fitted with a chrome oil pan, backed by its original 4-speed manual transmission. It was rebuilt, clutch replaced and still has its correct id tag.
