26,030 miles
1967 Pontiac Firebird Hardtop The first generation Firebird had the Coke bottle styling shared with its sister, the Chevrolet Camaro. The Firebird's bumpers were integrated into the design of the front end, giving it a more streamlined look. The Firebird's rear tail lights were inspired by the 1966-1967 Pontiac GTO and Pontiac Grand Prix. A two door hardtop and a convertible were offered through the 1969 model year. Over-drive-magazine.com. For consignment, a 1967 Pontiac Firebird Hardtop with a title verified 26,031 actual miles. This is a resto-mod version packing a 461ci V8 that has been dyno proven to produce a ground stomping 530 horsepower. Interested in the recipe? Read on! Exterior Two stage and deep, the Pearl Red paint dresses this car with near perfection in a vibrant shade of red that sets the stage for the tasteful contrast of the trim, badges, and ornamental accent pieces someone at Pontiac drew up a long time ago. Little did they know that such accents would disappear and serve as classics 60 years later. The LED headlights give the car a slightly updated persona, and the 17-inch RC Comp Torx wheels take it to the next level with heavily staggered tires no older than late 2019. Chrome beak, hood nostrils, slit style tail lights, and native American styled bird emblems, all present and accounted for. Imperfections include a paint crack on one of those scoops, a chip on the rocker panel, chips on the hood edge seen with hood open, and rock spray on rear fenders. Interior Black plastic door panels with some trim and hardware are minimalistic with just enough design features to pick up on the tuck and roll design of the black vinyl bucket seats up front and along with the rear bench, all are in excellent condition. The original steering wheel has a crack in the rim but is still cool, and fronts the standard instruments, the fuel gauge partially obscured by the big Street Tach on the column. Woodgrain backs the AM radio with Bluetooth and the vent lever panel which is underscored by an added triple gauge pod. Things get serious in the center console where a B&M shifter is accompanied by some directional labeling and it's mounted over black loop carpet that also looks great with vintage style Pontiac rubber mats that are a nice touch. The headliner is tight and clean and the trunk is also ready for delivery! Drivetrain Have you ever wondered what made the Angry Birds angry? Well, this bird gets its temper from the McBetts Racing Engines built 461ci V8 under the hood and it features the following: A Comp XR288HR cam, Eagle crank, 10:1 compression, Edelbrock heads, and an FST 850cfm 4-barrel carburetor. Freddy Brown Racing built the AOD 4-speed automatic transmission which routes big power to the Eaton locker equipped Ford 9 differential with 3.70 gears, Positraction and 31 spline axles coming in the side doors. This recipe is good for a dyno proven 530 horsepower and 590 pound feet of torque! Naturally, headers are on board and the bay and engine are spotless. Undercarriage Aside from being fantastically clean, the underside is where you'll find some more ingredients for this sweet build. The Pypes 3 dual exhaust runs through an X-pipe and stainless steel mufflers, dumping just past the rear axle. Wilwood disc brakes are on all four wheels and suspension include QA1 front coil overs and mono leaf with CalTrac bars and Calvert rear shocks at the hind end.   Drive-Ability Okay, the radio doesn't work, but we're wowed by the sound of the exhaust so that's fine by us, but we had to let you know. Yes, the sweet rumble of the exhaust is matched by the power on tap, the straight away stability and speed, and by some very nice handling. This is one we could definitely live with!
