21,931 miles
1939 Ford 85 Deluxe Coupe A convenient, modern car that carries three comfortably. Especially desirable for business and professional use. Light over rear window with switch on door pillar. Clear Vision Ventilation. Windshield opens. Extra large parcel shelf behind driver's seat. Two luggage compartments. Spare tire mounted vertically in rear luggage space. From the 1939 Ford dealer's brochure. For consignment, a 1939 Ford 85 Deluxe coupe with a title verified 21,931 actual miles. They won't need lights and sirens to see this street rod coming, and it checks all the boxes for a classic build that's ready for show and go. Exterior It's got it all; chopped, shaved, flush lights, big chrome wheels, and a ground hugging stance all decked out in two stage Fire Engine Red paint. Tiny sport mirrors have been sized accordingly though proportions are wildly styled in other areas. The pointed nose and sweeping chrome grille is flanked by protruding headlights inside of pointed fenders. Those fenders connect with the rear fenders in a seamless flow, capped down low by contouring and flush tail lights. At the end of the bulging decklid are a pair of good sized exhaust tips and did you note the split rear window while back here? It appears the wheels were borrowed from a Prowler with 17-inch fronts and 20-inch rears with low profile tires that tuck well into the fenders. Overall, it's a spectacular vision. Imperfections include paint chips, inclusions, scratches, bubbling, and rock chips. Interior Abstractly patterned beige leather door cards join the red base for a set of handsome inner doors that open coach style, leading to low back bucket seats in the same material with some minor patina creasing the driver, but completely intact. A modern stylized interpretation of a banjo wheel on a polished column is in front of a pure red dashboard with a row of VDO gauges spanning the width. A custom center console is home to an AM/FM radio, A/C billet knobs, and the tall Lokar-type shifter, all in stunning beige material. An impressive attention to detail includes an under dash panel with courtesy lights that encloses the typically open space. Tan carpet covers the floor and a very nice headliner is above. It's all very nice and the trunk is no slouch either, fully finished in all the same materials and clean. Drivetrain Clean and simple is how we find the 350ci engine with an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor, headers, and a 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission behind it. Power is routed to a Ford 8 rear. The car has power steering, power brakes, air conditioning, and runs on a 12 volt system. Undercarriage Clean underneath helped out by plenty of polished components including the finned rear differential cover. The dual exhaust runs cleanly through FlowMaster mufflers and exits through polished tips out back. Power disc brakes live up front, with power drum in back and suspension includes a Mustang II front and 4-bar with polished coil overs in back. Drive-Ability Lean and low, we step down into this red rider and crank that 350 to life, allowing that appropriate guttural exhaust note to fill our room. But it's out on the test loop where the real story is told and although we're on tires from 1999, we're able to tell that there's more than adequate power on board and handling is excellent. There are no wipers and the radio is not working, but all other functions on this nicely appointed rod work as they should. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase. Your Matchbox days are over. Now it's time for real fun and the real thing! MTV and ZZ Top did wonders for the Hot Rod scene, but you were just trying to get to Spring Break back then and the thought of owning a red hot rod was a dream. Well, welcome to 2026; the year your dreams come to life! While she has legs and knows how
