54,565 miles
This truck was originally purchased by a man named Jim McFadden in September 1947 as documented on the original bill of sale. Mr McFadden owned an avocado ranch in Whittier, CA where the truck served as a work horse for many years. It was a CA truck so it would be equipped with a radio but Heater delete. As property values rose, Mr. McFadden sold the farm in 1969 along with the home and garage. Jim Linklater purchased the home and it came with this 1947 Studebaker inside the garage. Fast forward until 1975 when Jim and the current owner were co-workers at Container Corp of America when Jim asked the current owner if he knew anyone that wanted an old Studebaker Pickup....Well a deal was made The owner had the truck towed to his house and between 1975 and 1993 it was painted, got it running and functionally correctly. The truck was purchased with 51,000 miles and now has just over 54,000 miles. In 1993 the truck went through a full frame off restoration that included well....Everything. The process took until 2008 when it was finally fully assembled and running correctly. The restoration used 100% stainless steel nuts and bolts throughout along with a stainless exhaust. The truck was shown a few times including the Studebaker International show in South Bend, IN in 2022 and took first place. This truck speaks for itself and is probably the finest M5 in existence with an incredible story to tell. This truck comes with a few extras.
