1994 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 Convertible The fortunes of war have varied over the decades. But the report from the front as 1994 gets underway shows the tide clearly running in Chevrolet's favor. Against a commendable, smooth and refined new Mustang, the Camaro, redesigned last year for its fourth generation, more than holds its own. In fact, it kicks ponytail. In nearly every performance measurement we take, the Camaro Z28 runs all over the Mustang GT. Car and Driver, Dec. 1993 comparison to the Mustang GT.  For consignment, a 1994 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 with a title verified 51,493 actual miles. The original dealer brochure for the '94 Z28 boasted, Compare Camaro technology features and performance engineering with any other car in this price range. Then drive Camaro. You'll see why the readers of Autoweek have voted the new generation Z28 one of America's 10 best cars. Exterior This example shows vibrantly with its Bright Red paint, contrasted by the black tunnels of the inset dual headlights that flank the nose and top a set of fog lights mounted in the ground swooping grille. There's a fantastic detail on this generation in which the front fenders sport an extrusion that bleeds into the side mirrors. Beyond that, the shoulder line is straight until it blends with edges of the rear wing which forms a gap between the integrated connection and sits flat on the decklid. In back, red and white tail lights blend well with the red paint and pick up on the black Z28 emblem. A very nice black canvas top caps our car and is equipped with a glass window. With that top down, the raked window solidifies the wind defying wedge shape of the car while providing a sizable open cabin. Imperfections include blemishes on a side mirror, touched up and untouched scratches, a number of inclusions in the paint, chips, chin scrapes, and scuffs throughout.    Interior Streamline by modern Camaro standards, our door panels are clean graphite plastic with gray cloth inserts, a few well placed buttons, some minor storage on the bottom, and all are in great condition with some warping of the lower plastic on both doors in the same spot. Two tone graphite and gray cloth bucket seats have held up well here and indicative of a car that's been pampered. The rear 2+2 share the pattern in a more compact configuration. The black leather wrapped steering wheel has low connection points leaving an open rim for maneuverability and framing a simple instrument cluster ahead. Uncomplicated controls are to the right, canted towards the driver, and include A/C knobs and a Pioneer AM/FM/CD/AUX/USB radio, framed in black plastic which turns into the center console housing the shifter, and the entire interior looks fresh. The gray carpet still looks good and the deep but narrow trunk also shows little use.  Drivetrain Tucked deep into the bay is Chevrolet's venerable 5.7 liter LT1 V8, capable of 275 horsepower and mated here to a 4L60E 4-speed automatic transmission that routes power to the 10 bolt rear axle with 2.73 gears and Positraction. Undercarriage Typical patina and surface rust on a driven car but dry conditions and no structural rust is found. Here, the single exhaust finds a single muffler which deploys two tail pipes and exits through rectangular tips. Power disc brakes are at all four wheels and suspension consists of coil springs at both ends with a torque arm in back. Drive-Ability Solid, straight, and powerful. Handling is fantastic and without a manual, you can focus on going fast and holding on! Our ZR rated tires have a mid 2021 date code so as long as you keep the burnouts to a reasonable level, you won't need tires yet! This well cared for unit checks all the boxes in terms of functionality with the exception of the A/C which blows cool but not cold. Everything else works. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will
