*1964 Ford Galaxie 500 Convertible*Named to evoke visions of Americas space race, the Galaxie started as a trim level on the Fairlane in 1959, and in 1960, took the place of Fords premier full-size offering. Available in coupe, sedan, convertible and station wagon variants, the Galaxie offered an appealing list of available engine and transmission options, making it practical, as well as fun to drive. This 1964 Galaxie 500 Convertible comes from single family ownership out of Missoula, MT and was specified with an appealing powertrain. This Galaxie 500 Convertible looks absolutely stunning in black, with a contrasting white convertible top. 1964 represented the final year of the first generation of Galaxie construction, and features some nice styling alterations, making the car look a bit more futuristic, as well as a bit more aerodynamic thanks to Ford entering the hardtops in NASCAR. This car sits low on a set of American Racing 5-spoke billet wheels, that give it a nice pro-touring vibe, and also allow for the use of modern high-performance tires. The chrome presents very well around the car and the signature rocket afterburner-style taillights complete the exterior look. The interior of the Galaxie 500 was updated some for 1964 as well, and features a long horizontal speedometer, flanked by auxiliary gauges on the sides. Polished trim lines the center of the dashboard, along with teh center console that runs between the two front bucket seats. Like the front buckets, the rear bench is wrapped in black vinyl which is in quite nice condition. The stereo in the car has an original looking faceplate, but a Sirius XM receiver is installed on the dash, displaying the units modern internals.Under the hood looks to be a potent 427ci V8, breathing through three two-barrel carburetors. At the time, this would have been one of Fords most high-performance engines, and in this car, it runs through a sought-after 4-speed manual gearbox. Not only did this engine make the Galaxie 500 one of the fastest full-size cars on the market, when breathing through the tri-carb setup, it makes an outstanding noise which is even better appreciated with the top down. This Galaxie 500 Convertible combines the ultimate in 1960s design, with one of the eras most legendary powerplants, making for a truly enjoyable driving experience. This is a great option for the enthusiast looking to take the whole family out for a cruise, while still enjoying rowing your own gears and the power from that massive V8 under the hood.*Key Features* * Single Family Ownership From New * Long-Time Missoula, MT Car * 427ci V8 w/Three 2bbl Carburetors * 4-Speed Manual Gearbox * American Racing Billet Wheels * Bucket Seat Interior * 3.50 Rear Gears * Upgraded Original-Look Stereo Head Unit w/Sirius XM * Very Nicely Kept ExampleFor more information on this 1964 Ford Galaxie 500 Convertible or any of our 100+ High-Performance, Exotic and Special Interest cars always in stock, contact one of our friendly and knowledgeable sales consultants or always feel free to drop by our 40,000+ sq ft of Indoor Showrooms in Bellevue, WA - Home of an Exciting Inventory of Luxury, Exotic, High Performance and Collectible Automobiles.
