This 1975 Chevrolet Corvette is one of 4,629 examples manufactured for the third-generation convertible’s final year of production. Originally delivered to T.A. Byrne Chevrolet in Mount Kisco, New York, the car was reportedly sent to Nickey Chevrolet in Chicago, Illinois, in the mid-1970s for the installation of a 454ci V8, a four-speed manual transmission, and upgraded brakes. The car is finished in Mille Miglia Red over black leather upholstery, and features include a Positraction differential, a black convertible soft top, a removable red hardtop, side exhaust pipes, 15" wheels, FE7 Gymkhana suspension, power-assisted brakes, power windows, air conditioning, woodgrain trim, and a cassette stereo. This C3 Corvette convertible shows 11k miles and is now offered by the selling dealer with a window sticker, awards, judging sheets, service records, and a clean Nebraska title.
The car is finished in Mille Miglia Red and features a matching removable hardtop, a black convertible soft top, pop-up headlights, fog lights, a power antenna, 1969-style side exhaust pipes, and quadruple taillights. A Nickey decal has been applied to the rear of the car, and the selling dealer notes a potential previous repaint.
Polished 15" eight-hole alloy wheels are mounted with 255/60 Goodyear Eagle GTII tires. The car is equipped with power steering and the optional FE7 Gymkhana suspension. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel power-assisted ventilated discs that were reportedly upgraded in the 1970s by Nickey Chevrolet.
The interior is trimmed in black leather with matching carpets and door panels. Amenities include woodgrain trim, a tilting steering column, air conditioning, power windows, and an AudioVox AM/FM/cassette stereo. The padding beneath the carpeting was removed in 2021.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5,300-rpm redline. An analog clock and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, voltage, and fuel level are mounted in the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 11k miles.
The car left the factory powered by a 350ci V8 and was subsequently fitted with a 454ci V8, reportedly by Nickey Chevrolet in Chicago, Illinois, circa 1975. The heater core was replaced in 2021
