The 1997 Ford Mustang, part of its fourth generation, is an iconic American muscle car. Two trims were offered: Base and Cobra. The Base trim came with a 3.8L V6 engine that produced 150 horsepower, while the top-tier Cobra acquired a 4.6L V8 with 305 horsepower. Both trims were rear-wheel drive and utilized a 5-speed manual transmission as standard, with an optional 4-speed automatic. Notably, the 1997 Cobra introduced a unique independent rear suspension and borrowed design cues from the '65 Mustang. On the interior, an AM/FM radio cassette with 4 speakers was standard, along with power windows and door locks. Though safety and infotainment technology were sparse compared to today's vehicles, it was an admired powerhouse in its time.
