The 1999 Ford Mustang marked the beginning of the fourth generation for this iconic American muscle car. It came equipped with either a 3.8 L V6 engine producing 190 horsepower or, for the GT trim, a 4.6 L V8 offering a healthy 260 horsepower. The 1999 Mustang also saw the return of the special performance-oriented 'SVT Cobra' model, fitted with an enhanced V8 producing 320 horsepower. Both manual and automatic transmissions were available across the lineup. Rear-wheel drive was standard across all models. The 1999 revamp also saw some cosmetic changes, including sharper contours and larger wheel arches over the previous iteration. Inside, the Mustang offered a cassette player, leather seats, and power windows as standard.
