2006 Mercedes-Benz SLK Overview

The 2006 Mercedes-Benz SLK is part of the vehicle's second generation, recognized for its innovation in comfort and safety features. Offered in two trims, SLK280 and SLK350, it's powered by either a 228-hp 3.0L V6 or 268-hp 3.5L V6 engine, coupled with a standard 6-speed manual; a 7-speed automatic is optional. Both rear-wheel drive trims were celebrated for their speedy yet comfortable performace. The SLK also boasts an innovative retractable hardtop, an upgrade from the first generation's soft-top. Inside, drivers are treated to a modern, upscale cabin featuring a 7-inch infotainment screen, GPS navigation, and a 6-disc CD changer. Notable safety features include standard stability control, traction control, and an advanced, race-inspired braking system. Innovative AIRSCARF neck-level heating system was also introduced in this model, a first in the auto industry.
