The 2007 Chevrolet HHR is a retro-themed compact wagon, a blend of style and practicality. Two trims were available: LS and LT. The LS and LT trims were powered by a 2.2L four-cylinder engine that put out 149 hp while a 2.4L engine with 175 hp was optional for the LT trim. Both engines could be paired with either a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic transmission. Intended to evoke the 1949 Chevrolet Suburban, the HHR boasted generous cargo room and headroom. Standard features included keyless entry, power windows and mirrors, and a six-speaker audio system with an MP3-compatible CD player and an auxiliary input jack. The LT trim additionally offered a power driver seat and alloy wheels. Notable safety features included front-seat side airbags and antilock brakes. However, stability control wasn't available.
