The 2016 Mitsubishi Lancer is a compact sedan from the ninth and final generation of the model. It's offered in four trims: ES, SE, SEL, and the sportier GT, each with a unique set of features. The base model comes with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 148 horsepower, mated to a five-speed manual or an optional continuously variable transmission (CVT). Higher trims get a more potent 2.4-liter engine with 168 horsepower, paired with a CVT. The SE and SEL trims have standard all-wheel drive. The infotainment system includes a 6.1-inch touch screen, Bluetooth, USB port, and a four-speaker audio system. For 2016, a new SEL trim was added, and all trims received updated exterior styling.
