The 2017 Ford F-450, part of the brand's Super Duty series and F-Series' 13th generation, is a highly capable heavy-duty truck. It comes with a hefty 6.7-liter Turbo Diesel V8 engine that whips out a mammoth 440 hp and 925 lb-ft of torque, melded to a 6-speed automatic transmission. It's distinguished by its towing capacity which maxes out at a phenomenal 21,000 lbs for conventional towing, and skyrockets to a whopping 32,500 lbs with a fifth-wheel setup. Standard tech includes a rearview camera and Ford's SYNC infotainment system, while optional additions comprise a 8-inch touchscreen with SYNC 3, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. Unfortunately, advanced driver aids, such as blind-spot monitoring and lane-keeping assist, are not available in the base model, but they can be added in higher trims or as part of packages. It is truck workhorse down to its very DNA, and provides a surprisingly refined ride to boot.
