The 2017 Ford Fusion is part of the car's second-generation lineup. It comes in five trims: S, SE, Titanium, Sport, and Platinum. Engine choices include a 2.5L I4 producing 175 hp, a 1.5L turbo I4 with 181 hp, a 2.0L turbo I4 generating 245 hp, and a V6 Sport 2.7L twin-turbo V6 pumping out 325 hp. All models come with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard with an all-wheel drive optional for some trims. Significant changes for 2017 include the addition of the new Sport trim with a V6 engine, and both the Platinum trim and a suite of safety features tagged Ford's Co-Pilot360™. Key tech highlights include the updated SYNC 3 infotainment system with an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. Safety features contain adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-keeping assist.
