The 2017 Mazda CX-9 is a second-generation midsize crossover that pairs sophistication with performance. All trims come standard with a 2.5L turbocharged four-cylinder engine that delivers 227 horsepower on regular gas and 250 horsepower on premium, all managed by a 6-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, but all-wheel drive is available across all four trims: Sport, Touring, Grand Touring, and Signature. Notable tech highlights include a 7- or 8-inch touchscreen interface, Mazda's rotary infotainment controller, and optional Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Mazda equips the CX-9 with a suite of standard safety features that include blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision warning and low-speed automatic emergency braking. The CX-9 sees a minor revamp for the model year, including the addition of G-Vectoring Control, a Mazda-exclusive feature that enhances cornering performance.
