The 2019 Kia Soul lands in its second generation as a popular compact hatchback with distinctive style. Three engines are available: a base 1.6L 4-cylinder producing 130-hp, a 2.0L 4-cylinder with 161-hp, and a turbocharged 1.6L 4-cylinder offering a strong 201-hp. A 6-speed manual transmission comes standard on the base model, while a 6-speed automatic is optional. Higher trims get a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. The Soul is front-wheel drive only. Three trims (Base, Plus, and Exclaim) cater to a range of budgets and preferences. Safety features encompass a rearview camera, optional forward collision warning, and automatic emergency braking. The tech suite includes a standard 5-inch touch screen, Bluetooth, USB port, and satellite radio, with available features like Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and an 8-inch touchscreen. Notable for 2019 is the discontinuation of the previous midrange '!' (Exclaim) Turbo model, replaced with the more expensive GT-Line Turbo trim.
