Steeped in British charm, the 2019 MINI Convertible marks the third generation of this compact fun-mobile. Available in three trims — Cooper, Cooper S, and John Cooper Works — it offers a choice of a 134-horsepower 1.5-liter turbo-3, a 189-horsepower 2.0-liter turbo-4, or a 228-horsepower 2.0-liter turbo-4 engine. All trims can be paired with either a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission, driving the power to the front wheels. Inside, a 6.5-inch infotainment screen supports Bluetooth and USB connectivity, with an 8.8-inch touchscreen and Apple CarPlay as optional upgrades. Safety features include a rearview camera and rear parking sensors, with available features like forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high-beams. For 2019, MINI made Apple CarPlay and forward-collision warning standard in the Signature trim and fitted all models with a redesigned, more traditional fuel gauge.
