The 2020 Buick Encore GX, a new addition to Buick's model line-up, bridges the gap between the standard Encore and the larger Enclave. It comes in three available trims: Preferred, Select, and Essence. Power options include a 1.2-liter turbocharged engine with 137 hp (standard on Preferred and Select trims) and a 1.3-liter turbocharged engine with 155 hp. All trims come with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT), with an optional nine-speed automatic available on AWD 1.3-liter models. FWD is standard while AWD is optional. Safety features include automatic high-beam headlights, lane-keep assist with lane-departure warning, and forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking. Infotainment in all models includes a standard 8-inch touchscreen equipped with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and an available in-vehicle Wi-Fi hotspot. For 2020, the GX provides better cargo flexibility and more modern technology than the standard Encore.
