The 2021 BMW X5 is a midsize luxury SUV now in its fourth generation and a key player in BMW's X series lineup. It comes in six trims from the 40i to the high-performance M model. Engine options range from a 335-hp turbocharged inline-six in the 40i models to a monstrous 612-hp twin-turbo V8 in the top-tier M model. An 8-speed automatic transmission is standard across all trims, accommodating either a RWD or AWD drivetrain.
