The 2021 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport is a midsize two-row SUV, a shortened twist on the three-row Atlas. The model offers two engines: a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 235 horsepower and a 3.6-liter V6 with 276 horsepower. Both are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission with either FWD or optional AWD. The lineup includes eight different trims, from the base S up to the SEL Premium R-Line. The interior features a standard 6.5-inch touchscreen or an optional 8-inch display, both offering Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A suite of driver aids such as automated emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and rear-cross-traffic alert come standard, while adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist are included on higher trims. For 2021, all Atlas Cross Sport models now come with Volkswagen’s MIB3 infotainment system and offer Travel Assist and Emergency Assist semi-autonomous driving features.
