The 2024 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport is part of the first generation of this model introduced in 2020. It's a midsize crossover SUV that puts a stylish twist on the more utilitarian Atlas. Various powertrains are available starting with the standard 235-hp turbocharged four-cylinder engine. A more powerful 276-hp V6 engine is optional. Both powertrains pair with an eight-speed automatic transmission, and while FWD is standard, AWD is optional. It's available in six trim levels: S, SE, SE with Technology, SEL, Premium, and R-Line. Standard safety features include forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitor, and rear cross-traffic alert. Higher trims offer adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and auto-dimming rearview mirror. Inside, an 8.0-inch touch screen is standard while the top trims get a large digital instrument panel and a Discover Media touch-screen navigation system. Apple Carplay and Android Auto are available for all models. One notable development for the 2024 model year is the introduction of the more aggressive R-Line trim with sportier exterior styling cues.
