The Volkswagen Taos 2024 is the new face in the compact SUV segment. It comes installed with a 1.5-liter turbo-four engine that directs 158 horsepower and pairs with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, though an all-wheel-drive system with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission is also available. It is offered in three trims: S, SE, and SEL. Standard safety features include automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-keeping assistance. Regarding infotainment features, the Taos comes standard with a 6.5-inch touchscreen display, but an 8.0-inch version is optional, as is a Digital Cockpit gauge display. Both screens feature Volkswagen's latest MIB3 infotainment software and are compatible with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This model year sees little changes, but improvements to materials and design are notable.
