The 2024 Volvo XC40 advances the second generation of the brand's compact SUV lineage. It features a standard 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 248 horsepower. A hybrid T5 Recharge variant is also available, incorporating a 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine with an 80-hp electric motor, delivering an impressive total output of 262 horsepower. Both powertrain options are equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission and come standard with all-wheel-drive (AWD). The XC40 is available in a choice of two trims, Momentum and R-Design. Both trims provide extensive safety options, including Collision Avoidance by City Safety, Lane Keeping Aid and Oncoming Lane Mitigation, and Cross Traffic Alert. The infotainment system promises seamless connectivity with a 9-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, and optional Harman Kardon premium sound system. Notably, the 2024 update features enhanced hybrid technology in the form of an improved electric range for the T5 Recharge variant.
