Finding a Great SUV on Budget is Easier with Carsforsale.com

In the market for an SUV? Whether it’s new or used you’re looking, Carsforsale.com makes it easier. You can start looking for your SUV in a variety of ways and get as specific as you’d like by entering just a few keywords. Or you can start from scratch and begin looking through thousands of listings for models you may not even realize existed! I’ll give a quick rundown of some of the search options and then we’ll find one of my desired SUVs together. Let’s get started.

Home Page Options

Right away, on the home page of Carsforsale.com, you’ll see some options. There are three tabs that let you switch between the Make/Model of a vehicle, the Body Style of a vehicle, and how you want to make a Payment, in case you want to calculate that before beginning.

The Make / Model tab also has dropdown menus for finding exact makes and models, entering a minimum and maximum price, and then figuring out just how far you want your search to extend geographically. The default is to generate results within 100 miles of your zip code, but you can change that. That sounds easy enough, right? Well, you can expand even further.

Well, in this instance, the Body Style tab will come in handy because I’m not looking for a specific SUV just yet. In the Body Style tab, the criteria changes just a little bit. You can still enter a minimum and maximum price range and set your radius, but now you can choose an overall body style and enter the maximum mileage you want.

Then there’s the Payment tab. This time, you have the option of entering a minimum desired payment and a maximum payment. Entering a minimum year or maximum year will narrow your results by model years. You’ll see that the 100-mile radius is still in place, too, unless you expand or reduce that selection.

Even More Parameters Within Your Results

Thanks to our lists, like the best 2024 SUVs for towing, I know that the Jeep Grand Wagoneer can handle 9,800 lbs. of towing. I also know that the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander is one of the best hybrid SUVs, too. I like the Nissan Rogue, but don’t want to go that route, so our alternatives to the Nissan Rogue article should come in handy. The Toyota RAV4 is one of those listed options. I like that pick. So, I’ve chosen Toyota as my make, the RAV4 as my model, put in a maximum price of $20,000, and I’ve set a 25-mile radius from Broomfield, Colorado, just outside of Denver.

Even with that very specific criteria, I’ve got a few dozen results to go through. Down the left side of the page, there are a variety of other ways I can narrow, or expand, my results. For example, the mileage isn’t selected yet. I’m going to narrow the mileage between 40,000 and 80,000 miles by moving the two mileage sliders.

Doing this narrowed my results to under a dozen. If I’m not happy with those results, I can increase or decrease the price, the year, or the mileage again.

Further below, there are options to choose your desired fuel economy, filter results by how many days a vehicle has been listed, choose your preferred exterior color, search by automatic or manual transmissions, and find your desired drivetrain, too.

I think I’ve found a couple of contenders. There’s a 2017 Toyota RAV4 priced at $16,495 with 76,966 miles on it and a 2015 Toyota RAV4 priced at $17,500 with 76,152 miles. There’s a list of premium features, standard features, a list of price changes, and some possible seller’s notes on every Vehicle Details Page. Any time I find a vehicle that I’m possibly putting my money down on, I’ll always do a little checking using the free Vehicle History Report. That way I’ll know if there’s any junk or salvage information available, be able to see insurance information, and look at the title history, and more.

Changing Your Criteria

If you’d like more results, or if you don’t have a specific model in mind, that’s OK. That’s why there are literally hundreds of thousands of listings to look through. Use the functions on the side of the page to choose a body style, adjust your slider buttons, select your preferences, and start browsing. That’s the easiest way to find a vehicle that you may not even realize you’re interested in. Search millions of vehicles from the comfort of your own home or find the exact vehicle you’re looking for. It really can be that easy.
