A Vintage Ford F-100 Joins the Halftime Show

Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl LX halftime show put a vintage cream and green colored Ford F-100 in the spotlight!

The Super Bowl halftime show is known for some unforgettable performances, like last year’s performance that involved Kendrick Lamar and an awesome GNX. This year’s big game added a definitive American pickup to the spotlight. During Bad Bunny’s performance, he stood on the roof of a vintage 1970 Ford F-100 long-bed truck. Even though he was surrounded by dancers in the bed and around the vehicle, car enthusiasts were busy looking at details like the headlights and grille to figure out from what era this Ford belonged to.

The Halftime Moment

Energy, dancers, and bold visuals were all part of the performance. So was a vintage Ford pickup with a cream-over-green two-tone paint job. The truck quickly caught some attention. It’s a fifth-generation Ford F-100 long-bed, and it actually became a centerpiece of the stage for a few moments.

Bad Bunny sang while standing on the roof of the classic Ford. But the iconic F-Series truck was much more than just a prop. It helped blend scenes right out of Puerto Rico with some classic Americana. The nearly 15-minute show also included visuals like the flags of every North and South American country and red, white, and blue fireworks.

We all know that the Ford F-100 has long been a symbol of American truck tradition. By the time the fifth-generation 1967 F-100 rolled around, the pickup was a more comfortable and capable machine while keeping its rugged spirit intact. This generation introduced a wider cab and expanded engine options. It also had a growing list of special editions, including the Camper Special, Explorer Special, Contractor Special, and Farm & Ranch Special. Updated styling kept the F-100 modern while maintaining its iconic design.

The F-Series would go on to become the best-selling pickup in the United States starting in 1977 and the best-selling vehicle overall for more than four decades. That’s the kind of lasting popularity and influence that builds legacies. Its classic lines have made it a favorite for resto-mod enthusiasts who modernize these trucks while keeping their vintage charm. Not His First Classic Ford

The Super Bowl show wasn’t the first time Bad Bunny showcased a classic Ford F-Series pickup. In his not-safe-for-work “Moscow Mule” music video, another Ford was featured. The video opens with a striking shot of a similar looking Ford driving along the Seven Mile Bridge in the Florida Keys. That one was a customized green-and-white early-1970s Ford F-Series truck.

Seeing another vintage F-Series during the halftime show, reinforced Bad Bunny’s ongoing love for classic Ford pickups. Between the mix of nostalgia, Puerto Rican spirit, and overall American imagery, the Ford F-100 fit right in under those stadium lights. After all, there’s no expiration date on a classic.
