Top 5 Bad Boy Cars

Ever heard of Make-Out Point? You know, where people are all kissing in cars? Well, let’s take a look at some of the “bad boy” cars that have parked there.

The Common Offenders for Kissing in Cars

It’s that classic teenage trope. The “bad boy” pulls up in his car to his date’s house and is met by the strict father who lays down a bunch of rules and implied threats. Then the girl rides off with the boy to the inevitable canoodling spot that’s some parking lot with a name like Make-Out Point, Lovers Lane, or Kissing Creek. Being Valentine’s Day, we figured a lot of people may find themselves kissing in cars, so it’d be fun to take look back at some of the “bad boy” cars from over the years. Here’s some cars that fathers have hated to see pull up in their driveway.

Ford Model A

The Ford Model A came in many shapes and forms in the 1930s, but it only became a “bad boy” car once the model was discontinued. The Model A was the common hot rod platform for gearheads of the ‘40s and ‘50s. Motorcycle fenders were added, custom paint jobs adorned the bodies, and the hoods were removed to make room for more powerful engines with custom exhausts. These hot rods threw caution to the wind, were commonly found racing each other down main street, and grabbed the attention of the ladies with ease.

AMC Rambler

Starting off the list is AMC’s small economy model vehicle, the Rambler. Now, the AMC Rambler didn’t put out a bunch of horsepowers and it wasn’t super aggressive looking on the outside, but they did have one feature that made them infamous as the perfect make-out car. The Rambler’s front seats reclined perfectly to meet with the rear seats and create a bed in the vehicle. Needless to say, fathers of the ’60s were none too pleased to see their daughters ride off in this car.

Dodge Ram Van

In the ‘70s and ‘80s, there was a collection of people that took the Dodge Ram Vans and made them rolling art pieces. Airbrushed murals along the sides, flashy accessories added on, and a completely redesigned interior that typically had floor to ceiling shag carpet. It’s bad enough that the boyfriend is a hippy or a wannabe rocker, but the conversion Ram Vans they pulled up in typically carried a couch or full-on bed (sometimes full of water) in the back. While others were kissing in basic cars, these conversion vans were complete make-out land yachts.

Honda Civic

The Honda Civic itself is a great car that can last a long while, but it’s the tuners that make it end up on this list. The loud aftermarket exhaust, static suspension with stanced wheels, an obnoxious sound system rattling the body panels, there’s a lot not to like about one of these teenage tuners pulling up in your driveway to pick up your kid. At least you won’t have to worry too much about anyone kissing in cars like these ones, since the “bad boys” will be more preoccupied talking about their VTEC engines in gas station parking lots.

Ford Mustang

Muscle cars like the Chevrolet Camaro, Dodge Challenger, and Pontiac GTO have worked as the ultimate pickup tool over the years. However, there’s one that the stands over them all as the ultimate heartthrob. The Ford Mustang, no matter what the year, is sure to be sure to get the attention of all the ladies as it drives down the road. It’s loud, cool, and makes anyone behind the wheel of one want to show off and do a burnout. It’s the epitome of a “bad boy” car. The Ford Mustang, with all its history and cultural impact, is one of the first models that comes to mind when thinking of people kissing in cars. Just be sure to take a different ride when the Mustang owner leaves a car meet though.
