There’s an actual NACAR stock car for sale on Carsforsale.com! And better yet, it’s Hall of Famer Tony Stewart’s!

It isn’t every day that you see a winning NASCAR stock car for sale on Carsforsale.com, but this one is even more special because of the driver that was behind the wheel. He’s a been inducted into multiple motorsports hall of fames including the NASCAR Hall of Fame, he’s a three-time NASCAR Cup Series Champion, has 49 Cup Series wins over his 17-year career, dominates motorsports on both the dirt and pavement, is a motorsports commentator, and is a part owner of a major racing team. I’m of course talking about Tony Stewart. He’s made quite a name for himself in the racing world and now you have a chance to own one of his winning racecars.

Tony “Smoke” Stewart got his start in racing at a young age. He began racing go karts at eight years old in 1979 and won his first championship the following year. In 1987, Stewart won the World Karting Association Championship before transitioning to midget sprint cars. In 1991, Stewart moved into the United States Auto Club (USAC) circuit where he was named in the USAC Rookie of the Year. He won the USAC National Midget Series Championship in 1994 and followed that up by being USAC’s first driver to ever win the Triple Crown – winning the national championship for Silver Crown, sprint cars, and midget sprints.

From there, Stewart was propelled into the Indy Racing League, the NASCAR Busch Series, and a stint in the Craftsman Truck Series. He’d race with every chance he got for those series while continuing to have a career in the USAC nationals too. Eventually he gained enough confidence from Joe Gibbs to be put in the driver’s seat of the #20 Pontiac Cup Series stock car for the 1999 season. He’d go on to win the 1999 Winston Cup Series Rookie of the Year award after securing a number of top 5 finishes and winning three events. That year, Stewart took on the challenge of racing in the Indy 500 and the Coca-Cola 600 for 1,100 miles of racing in one weekend. He finished 10 miles short of that goal as the Indianapolis race was finished with him four laps down.
Stewart continued his success the following seasons before winning his first NASCAR Cup Series Championship in 2002. The next year, Joe Gibbs Racing transitioned their cars to Chevrolet Monte Carlo designs and the defending champion would encounter one of his less impressive years. 2004 saw Stewart team up with Andy Wallace and Dale Earnhardt Jr. at the 24 Hours of Daytona endurance race. The group was one of the better teams for the majority of the race before encountering mechanical issues that led to them placing fourth overall.
2004 was almost Stewart’s second Cup Series Championship, but a crash at New Hampshire Motor Speedway ended his run for the trophy. It wasn’t a completely tarnished year for Stewart though, as that was also the year that he became the owner of the famous Eldora Speedway. The next NASCAR season also helped keep the racing star in good spirits as that was the year he secured his second Cup Series Championship.

2006 was a slump year for Stewart full of mishaps and controversies. He’d move on from Joe Gibbs Racing after the 2008 season because the team had switched to the Toyota Camry for their stock cars. Stewart voiced his devout association with General Motors products having only driven under their brands previously. Stewart announced his signing with Haas in which he’d race the #14 Chevrolet Impala SS and gain a 50% stake in the team. It wouldn’t be until 2011 that Stewart found his third and final Cup Series Championship.

Tony Stewart continued to race in NASCAR until retiring from full-time racing after the 2016 season. He made appearances on the dirt track in Sprint Cars and Midget Sprint Cars from time to time and has recently entered the drag racing scene. Tony Stewart even co-founded and participates in the Superstar Racing Experience. He’s still part owner of Stewart-Haas Racing for NASCAR, owns Tony Stewart Racing for USAC sprint cars, and is part owner of both Paducah International Raceway and Macon Speedway. He’s still the owner of the famous Eldora Speedway as well. Tony Stewart continues to race in different events from time to time while also starting some new career ventures closely related to motorsports. He’s become a radio host, Fox Sports broadcaster, and has helped in producing some racing video games.

This NASCAR Cup Series stock car listed on Carsforsale.com was purchased from Stewart-Haas and has been maintained by Rhine Enterprises who specialize in vintage racecar restoration and fabrication. Bill Rhine has kept this stock car looking nearly exactly as Stewart would have experienced it inside and out. Powering this Cup Series racecar is a 358 CID V8 HMS SB2 engine direct from Hendrick Motorsports putting out 815 horsepower. It features all period correct safety equipment and is still tuned with a setup for road course racing.
The chassis number is HMS 10 07 469 which connects it to Tony Stewart’s win at the 2009 Pocono 500. The car was originally setup as a Car of Tomorrow generation with Impala SS front and rear facias before being updated with a Gen 6 Chevrolet SS body over this chassis. While the car wore its Office Depot livery at the Pocono win, the current livery on the #14 car is the one used at the 2016 Darlington Throwback Weekend race. The Coca-Cola design is a replica of Bobby Allison’s iconic 1969 Holman Moody Mercury Cyclone. Finally, completing this cars connection to Tony Stewart is an autograph from the man himself on the dash.

The #14 car’s current owner has had “Smoke’s” car on display at the NASCAR Hall of Fame, but it has also been brought out to different NASCAR race weekends around the country to showcase to fans. For $99,900, you could own a piece of NASCAR history that’s still ready to round the track. Plus, owning one of Stewart’s old cars could get you in the door to meet the motorsports legend in person.
