
Ford Motor Company has announced a recall of nearly 1.9 million vehicles due to a defect in rear-view cameras that may display distorted, flipped, or blank images, posing a serious safety risk while reversing. This is Ford’s fourth major camera-related recall since 2020. In 2024, the company paid a $165 million fine for delays in addressing similar defects.
The malfunctioning cameras violate federal safety standards and have been linked to over 44,000 warranty claims and 18 reported accidents. No injuries have been reported in relation to the faulty cameras.

According to the NHTSA recall notices will begin mailing out September 22.Your local Ford Dealer will inspect and replace faulty cameras at no cost.
