We found the top ten trims in 2024 that offer the most while costing the least
Trim levels can be overly complex, overdone, and sometimes just completely silly. Automakers know that not everyone wants the exact same features and content. To that end, they offer the same model but with different trim levels to suit different buyers. Sometimes, the best content is locked away in super-expensive trim levels. Other times, it’s available in lower trim models but you have to know what boxes to check. That’s what we’re showing you today. The best trim levels of 2024.
This pickup is mostly new for 2025 and several of its trim levels will cost north of $65,000. At the top of the pile is the Tungsten which boasts a starting price of almost $90,000. Meanwhile, for just $55,000, the Big Horn is available with Ram’s new straight-six engine, four-wheel drive, a 10-inch infotainment system, and more. It’s by far the best value in the lineup too since it offers the best towing and payload capacity along with all of the modern tech we’ve come to expect.
The K5 is a stunning sedan for several reasons. It’s great to look at, packed full of awesome technology, and good to drive. The GT Version comes with the best motor in this entire segment but will also set you back at least $35,000. The GT-Line trim however rings up for just $29,000 and comes standard with 18-inch wheels, LED exterior lighting, a 12.3-inch infotainment system, heated seats, and integrated navigation. Those who want just a touch more have access to two optional packages that include one for highway driving assistance and another with a panoramic sunroof.
We love the Trax here at Cars For Sale. It’s a practical little car with a lot of personality and it starts at just $21,495. Top end trims like the 2RS and ACTIV will cost just shy of $25,000 but we say for the LT. It costs $23,395 and comes with all of the exact same content as the 2RS and ACTIV save for some larger wheels. The LT also comes with an 11-inch infotainment system, a digital gauge cluster, and adaptive cruise control.
There’s no question that the Honda Pilot is a well-loved model in the SUV segment. Like most of its rivals though, it’s now available with several high-priced trims that don’t necessarily reflect an excellent value for money. The Black Edition sits at the top for north of $55,000. We recommend the EX-L though because at $44,595, it comes with everything you need and even some things you don’t. All Pilots get the same engine so you don’t lose out there. The EX-L also gets a 9-inch infotainment system (the largest available), leather upholstery, an in-cabin intercom system, and a nine-speaker sound system.
At the end of its life, the Camaro comes in seven different trims notwithstanding special editions. At the top of the heap, the Camaro ZL1 has a price of $75,395. We think you can get much of that same performance in the 2SS for $48,895. Yes, it’s still a lot to pay, but we’re talking about a Camaro that is almost fully loaded for tens of thousands less than the top model. It’s tough to go wrong there.
Of all the latest new Mazda models, the CX-50 stands out. It’s a bit more rugged, has a slightly more modern stance, and drives just as well as the rest of the family. It might sound a little too simple but we think the Turbo model is the one to go for. It comes with the desirable turbo engine, 20-inch wheels, leather upholstery, and a panoramic sunroof. It also costs $39,000 when compared to the top trim for almost $45,000.
In a brand full of great values, the G70 3.3T Sport Advanced might not be a car you’ve thought of recently but you should. It’s one of the very best sports sedans in its class, it starts at $51,700 before options, and packs 365 horsepower into a drivetrain that benefits from 10 years or 100,000 miles of warranty coverage and three years or 36,000 miles of complimentary maintenance.
Toyota is now offering the RAV4 in about 164 different permutations including two hybrids, several different all-wheel drive systems, and one trim that’ll set you back almost $50,000. Forget all of that though because all you need is the XLE Premium. It’s available with 19-inch wheels, faux leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a moonroof. Oh, and it does it for just $34,000.
Electric vehicles are seeing a bit of a dip in demand right now and that makes it a great time to buy. Pricing is competitive and the Ioniq 6 comes in flavors from $38,000 to $51,300 or more if you add options. We recommend going for the SE Long Range though. It rings up for just $43,600 and comes with 225 horsepower and 361 miles of estimated range. That’s a great combination.
It might sound counterintuitive but sometimes the most expensive trim just offers the best value. For someone who wants a blend of performance, practicality, and reliability, the GR Corolla reigns supreme. Its 300 horsepower three-cylinder engine achieves up to 21 mpg in the city and 28 on the highway while also offering the type of driving experience that nothing else on this list, short of the Camaro, can offer. In addition, it comes standard with all-wheel drive. Did we mention that it’s a hatchback which is uber practical as well? Finally, while condition and mileage will play a role in value, we expect it to depreciate far less than other models.
