Just like the previous years’ model, the 2026 Chevrolet Traverse offers the same 2.5L turbocharged engine paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Its ride is tuned for comfort over sportiness, but it can still tow 5,000 lbs. when properly equipped. While some may still miss the V6 from its second generation, the turbo engine on this third-gen model does perform well and gets 20 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway.

The Traverse seats up to eight across three rows. Cloth seating is standard, but Evotex and perforated leather-trimmed upholstery is available as you get to the higher trim levels. The RS and Premier also include some unique interior accents that help them stand out in the lineup.
Legroom is excellent in both the second and third rows, easily providing enough space for adults to sit comfortably. You also get the option of swapping out the second-row bench seat for captain’s chairs.
Cargo space is good for the class. Behind the third row is 23 cu-ft of cargo space, but you can get up to 98 cu-ft of space with the seats folded down. This gives the Traverse flexibility for moving people and things all over town.
