All-wheel drive may seem like the little brother to four-wheel drive vehicles, but there’s something to be said about driving an all-wheel drive vehicle. Here are our top all-wheel drive cars to consider when making your next vehicle purchase.

How can you start an all-wheel drive list off without a Subaru? Hint: you can’t. The Subaru Impreza is a sedan that gives you more adventure for your buck. According to Edmunds, the Impreza is the cheapest all-wheel drive vehicle of 2019. With its 28 city/38 highway fuel efficiency, you’ll be hard-pressed to find another all-wheel drive car like this. You’ll also have high-tech safety features, even on the lowest trim-level, that include rear cross-traffic alerts and Subaru Eyesight (adaptive cruise control, emergency braking, lane keep assist, etc.,). What more can you ask for?

For a sportier version of an all-wheel drive sedan, look to the Dodge Charger. This vehicle isn’t for your average driver but for those who want a little more fun in their driving life, but with a little practicality in mind. With four doors and enough room for the whole family, the Dodge Charger isn’t totally impractical, but it won’t get you great gas mileage. There are, however, quite a few safety features including blind spot monitoring and forward collision warnings, along with a 5-star safety rating from the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration. With so many SUVs on the market, it’s hard to choose the top 3 all-wheel drive compact SUVs. Thankfully the Honda CR-V made it easier on us. The CR-V, rival to the Toyota RAV4, is one of America’s most favorite SUVs today for good reason. Abundant cabin and trunk space and a quiet cabin make the CR-V a family favorite. Not only does it accelerate and handle well, but this vehicle also has near perfect safety rating scores. You really can’t go wrong with the CR-V has it’s reliable and has great resale value, too, if you decide to make the switch. Also, it’s all-wheel drive, but you know that already.

The Jeep Cherokee is a great choice for those who want off-road and on road adventures. With the option for the Cherokee Trailhawk AWD package, you can get farther into the wild, while towing up to 4,500 lbs., too. Standard features in the Jeep Cherokee include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Jeep’s UConnect infotainment system.
