2024 Hyundai Elantra Powertrain 9.25/10
It’s a regular parade of powertrains with the 2024 Hyundai Elantra, but FWD is the only setup you’ll find as AWD is unfortunately unavailable. Base models – SE, SEL, and Limited – come with a 2.0L inline-4 mated to a CVT good for 147 hp and 132 lb-ft of torque. Hybrid versions feature a 1.6L four-pot with a small battery pack and electric motor that makes 139 hp and 195 torques. It pairs with a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic (DCT).
With the sporty N Line, a turbocharged version of the 1.6L motor is turned up to 201 hp and 195 lb-ft of torque, which is lashed to a 7-speed DCT. Top-spec Elantra N’s sport a turbocharged 2.0L inline-4 that makes up to 286 ponies and 289 torques. It boasts larger brakes, a sport-tuned suspension, and adaptive dampers.
Hybrid models are the most fuel efficient with the Blue trim rated for 54 mpg combined. The base SE comes in at 36 mpg combined and the N Line earns 31 mpg in the combined cycle. With the potent N model, that figure drops to 25 mpg when fitted with the standard 6-speed manual. Opt for the 8-speed dual-clutch transmission and fuel economy drops a bit further to 23 mpg combined.
2024 Hyundai Elantra Interior 8.25/10
With a 14.2 cubic foot trunk, the 2024 Elantra won’t be winning any best cargo capacity awards. But its 38 inches of rear legroom is a substantial 2 inches more than the Subaru Legacy, which does crush the Elantra on cargo thanks to its hatchback shape.
The Elantra can seat up to 5, but 4 adults are more realistic from a comfort perspective. Front-row occupants will find heated seats on the Limited model and dual-zone automatic climate control on SEL trim and above. One nod to cost cutting is that only Limited models and above have a 60/40 folding rear seatback for when you need to transport longer cargo.
2024 Hyundai Elantra Technology Features 8.5/10
Across the board, the 2024 Elantra has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. However, only the SE model with its 8-inch infotainment touchscreen has wireless integration. The rest of the lineup has a 10.25-inch screen but requires a wired connection. A Wi-Fi hotspot is offered on Limited models as is a Bose 8-speaker audio system that replaces the standard 6-speaker system.
SmartSense, Hyundai’s bundle of driver aids brings forward collision mitigation, a lane-keeping system, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, a driver-attention monitor, and automatic high beams to all models. Though the 2024 model year has yet to be tested, the NHTSA gave the 2023 Elantra a 5-star overall rating, and the IIHS named the 2022 model a Top Safety Pick.

SE – $22,590
The base Elantra SE comes with 15-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, and black or gray cloth upholstery. Other cabin amenities include manual air-conditioning, a height-adjustable driver’s seat, and USB ports for both rows.
SEL $24,540
SEL models ride on 16-inch wheels, have passive entry and a hands-free trunk release. From here on up, a fully digital gauge cluster and the larger infotainment screen are fitted. A $1,750 Convenience package offers upgrades like adaptive cruise control, a wireless phone charging pad, and heated front seats.
Blue Hybrid – $26,000 (est.)
The Blue hybrid Elantra closely follows the SEL model for content but comes with the fuel-sipping hybridized powertrain. These models also have heated side mirrors and heated front seats.
Limited – $28,030
These loaded Elantras sport 17-inch wheels, full LED exterior lighting, a sunroof, and Hyundai’s Digital Key tech. Leatherette covers the seats with ambient cabin lighting and a power-adjustable seat is also included. These models also have adaptive cruise control with semi-autonomous capability, front and rear parking sensors, a surround-view monitor, and a blind-spot view monitor.
N Line – $29,430
Along with more power, the sporty N Line rocks 18s, has gloss black trim, a rear lip spoiler, and sport seats up front wrapped in a leather-cloth combination featuring red contrast stitching.
Limited Hybrid – $31,000
The top-spec hybrid mostly follows its regular gas-powered Limited stablemate for content but adds leather upholstery, driver’s side memory settings, and front-row seat ventilation.
N – $36,000 (est.)
The 2024 Elantra N is a heavily revised performance variant with a bigger motor, 19-inch wheels, summer tires, a special suspension setup, a large rear wing-style spoiler, a variable valve exhaust system, and unique front seats.
2024 Hyundai Elantra Overall Value 9/10
Looking at the vast 2024 Hyundai Elantra lineup, the Blue hybrid model is a great pick. This trim level mostly mirrors the SEL for options while consuming fuel at a miserly rate. Few cars can compete with the Elantra when you consider it comes in regular, hybrid, sporty, and hot rod format. Add in the refreshed looks for this year and the Elantra becomes even more difficult to compete against.
And let’s not forget the warranty, which is one reason to go the new route versus a used Elantra. It includes a 5-year/60,000-mile basic term, a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain and hybrid battery term, and 3 years or 36,000 miles of complimentary maintenance.

It’s hard to find things NOT to like about the 2024 Hyundai Elantra. AWD would be a nice option, but would also jack up the bargain-basement pricing, and though the base motor won’t win any drag races, there’s the N Line and N for those with a need for speed.
The way Hyundai includes wireless smartphone mirroring with the smaller touchscreen seems like the biggest miss, but that’s more of an annoyance than anything. Outside of that, the Elantra strives to offer something for everyone and on that front, it succeeds.
