Kia’s K5 is a sporty looking mid-size sedan that offers some great standard features for a great price. If you’re looking for a little more power from this sedan, the GT trim level features a 2.5L turbocharged four-cylinder engine making 290 horsepower and 311lb-ft of torque. Coupled with this power increase is an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission as well as some added performance items, but it is only available with FWD. The 2024 Toyota Camry is virtually a carryover from last year, but it’s still one of the best mid-sized sedans on the market. Toyota offers a reliable 2.5L four-cylinder engine in the Camry that makes just 203 horsepower and 182 lb-ft of torque. That power is directed to the front wheels through an 8-speed automatic transmission, but AWD is available for the small engine setup too. For those that want better savings on fuel economy, Toyota provides a hybrid powertrain option that’s able to achieve 51 mpg in the city and 53 mpg on the highway. There’s also the more aggressive V6 engine on higher trims. It’s only available with the FWD drivetrain, but you gain 301 horsepower to make one mean mid-size sedan. Inside the Camry is a wonderfully designed cabin that offers a generous amount of passenger room. Infotainment systems range from 7-inch to 9-inch screens featuring the great Entune 3.0 system. Hyundai updated their Sonata for 2024 to feature a modern front facia that utilizes a full-length daytime running light. The Sonata lineup has also been simplified to just five trim levels of which there are three different engines. The first is the standard 2.5L four-cylinder engine making 191 horsepower and 181 lb-ft of torque. This setup is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and can be had as either FWD or AWD. The next option is the fuel-efficient hybrid powertrain that utilizes a 2.0L four-cylinder and an electric motor to achieve 50 mpg in the city and 54 mpg on the highway. Finally, Hyundai provides the N-Line with a turbocharged 2.5L four-cylinder engine making 290 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque paired with an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Inside the 2024 Hyundai Sonata has been updated to be tech forward and eye-catching. Passengers can enjoy accommodating space and comfortable seating. The biggest update though has to be that spanning set of curved screens utilized for the 12.5-inch infotainment system and the 12.3-inch driver display. It’s a feature typically found in high-end models usually, but Hyundai offers the setup as standard equipment. Furthering the Sonata’s value is the long list of advanced safety and driver assistance features as well as the significant 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain coverage that’s paired with three years or 36,000 miles of complimentary maintenance.

Taking the top spot for mid-sized sedans in 2024 is the Honda Accord. The 2024 model is a continuation of the all-new generation that debuted last year and as such has virtually no changes between them. The Accord can be found with either a turbocharged 1.5L four-cylinder that makes 192 horsepower and 192 lb-ft torque or a hybridized 2.0L four-cylinder making 204 horsepower and 247 lb-ft of torque. Both engine options are mated to a CVT and are only available as FWD. It isn’t an exciting set of powertrain options, but they are both reliable and fuel efficient, which is ideal for a daily commuter.

Stepping inside you’ll find a modern, clean design that features some of the best passenger space and comfort in the segment. The 16.7 cu-ft in the trunk is one of the largest spaces for the group too. The tech found in the Honda Accord includes a standard 10.2-inch digital gauge cluster and a standard 7-inch infotainment touchscreen or an available 12.3-inch unit. Honda also includes a great list of advanced safety and driver assistance features like adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, and pedestrian detection. Further sweetening the deal, the 2024 Honda Accord comes with two years or 24,000 miles of complimentary scheduled maintenance.
