2019 Chrysler 300 Powertrain
The 2019 Chrysler 300 is a bit different from the rest of the cars in its segment and price point. The 300 is built on a rear-wheel drive platform, giving it different driving dynamics plus a more premium looking design with larger dash-to-axle distance. The base engine is a 3.6-liter V6 which produces 292 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. Chrysler offers a slightly hotter tune in the 300S, where the V6 makes 300 horsepower and 264 lb-ft of torque. The power is sent through a smooth 8-speed automatic transmission then on to the rear wheels. If you live in a place where extra traction is useful on a regular basis, the V6 can be had with all-wheel drive. For those seeking more effortless power, Chrysler offers the 5.7-liter HEMI V8 that produces 363 horsepower and 394 lb-ft of torque. 2019 Chrysler 300 Fuel Economy & MPG
The one place the 2019 Chrysler 300 struggles compares to its competition is fuel economy. The V6 engine achieves decent fuel economy, with an EPA rating of 19 mpg for the city, 30 mpg on the highway, with a combined rating of 23 mpg. Those numbers take a hit when equipped with the all-wheel drive system, lowering it to 18 mpg city, 27 mpg highway, and 21 mpg combined. When it comes to the V8, there is a price to pay for the added muscle and it comes in the form of fuel. The V8 is rated at 16 mpg city, 25 mpg on the highway, and 19 mpg combined. Interior, Comfort, & Cargo Space
You might find it challenging to get out of the 2019 Chrysler 300, not because it’s physically difficult, but because it’s such a nice place to be. Inside, you’ll find plenty of space with over 106 cubic feet of passenger space, a generous 38.6-inches of front head room, and 41.8-inches of front legroom. The seats are comfortably shaped to reduce fatigue on long drives, and the sport seats offer a little additional bolstering to hold you securely in place when driving enthusiastically. One of the standout features of the 2019 Chrysler 300 is the infotainment system. The 300 comes with a standard 8.4-inch touchscreen display for the Uconnect system, with responsive inputs and customizable favorites. The system comes equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto so you can easily connect your smartphone and access your favorite apps. Satellite radio lets you get a large variety of programing, the voice command features make it easy to call up features without taking your hands off the wheel, and the two USB ports let you keep your devices charged and ready to go. The 2019 Chrysler 300 is a large sedan, offering good crash protection. The NTHSA gave the 300 a 4-star out of 5 safety rating. The IIHS gave the Chrysler 300 its highest score for 4 out of its 5 categories, however, the 300 only achieved a marginal score for the small overlap front crash test. Where the 300 excelled, was with its front crash prevention system, which the IIHS rated as Superior. The 300 is also available with a variety of safety aiding technology like adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, and forward collision warning.
Trims & Pricing
Touring – $29,470
The Touring trim is the entry point for the Chrysler 300 and comes equipped with comfort features like cloth seats with an 8-way power adjustable seat for the driver, a dual-zone automatic climate control system, and a leather wrapped steering wheel. Technology at this level includes a standard 8.4-inch touchscreen display, satellite radio, Bluetooth connectivity, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, two USB ports, and voice recognition.
Touring L – $31,970
When you step up to the Touring L trim, you get upgraded to Nappa leather seats with heated front seats, plus an 8-way power adjustable passenger seat. 300S – $36,645
The 2019 Chrysler 300S comes with things to make the 300 sportier including sport-tuned suspension for better handling, sport seats to hold you in place better, and paddle shifters for the transmission.
Limited – $38,495
When you get to the Limited trim you start really indulging in things like heated and ventilated front seats, heated seats for the rear passengers, and memory settings for the driver’s seat. The steering wheel is heated and had power adjustability for both tilt and telescope.
300C – $41,945
The top 2019 Chrysler 300C trim comes with gorgeous quilted Nappa leather seats, adaptive headlights, and high-performance brakes.
Warranties
The 300 comes with a 3-year or 36,000-mile basic warranty. Chrysler covers the powertrain with a 5-year, 60,000-mile warranty. If having a long-term warranty is important in your buying decision, there are other companies that offer significantly longer warranty periods.
