What do our experts think of the 2023 Infiniti QX60? We look at powertrain, interior options, trim levels, and more. Find out our thoughts here.

What’s New for the 2023 Infiniti QX60?

Not a lot has changed since 2022. In fact, the only notable additions are the frameless rearview mirror and wireless cell phone charging feature. This is mainly due to the fact that Infiniti overhauled the QX60 in 2022. You might find it more financially feasible to check out a used 2022 model.

While not much has changed, the 2023 Infiniti QX60 offers perfectly ample standard equipment while reserving luxurious appointments as optional add-ons. The adage, “If it isn’t broken, don’t fix it”, plays into this situation.

So, are you ready to find out more about this roomy crossover? Let’s take a look.

2023 Infiniti QX60 Powertrain

2023 Infiniti QX60 V6 - usa.infinitinews.com
2023 Infiniti QX60 V6 - usa.infinitinews.com

The 2023 Infiniti QX60 has remained unchanged from the previous model year in terms of powertrain. The 3.5L V6 engine and nine-speed automatic transmission are available on both AWD and FWD models and dish out 295 horsepower with 270 lbs.-ft of torque. There are no hybrid options available.

The 2023 Infiniti QX60 offers 6.5 inches of ground clearance, so it isn’t going to be your next off-road vehicle. Still, this is plenty of clearance for driving on snowy roads.

The suspension has been retuned slightly for 2023 but is still a shock-and-strut configuration. It provides a quiet and smooth ride which makes long trips very comfortable. After all, it is a luxury SUV.

The fact of the matter is that the 2023 Infiniti QX60 will not win any awards for its power. It is rather sluggish and feels hard to get up to speed. The shifting is smooth, but it lacks the low-end pull that we would have liked to have seen from an SUV of this class. It would be nice if it had the pep of the Nissan Murano.

Another strike goes against the 2023 Infiniti QX60 for its rather poor cornering. It feels like a big, boxy SUV while taking corners. This shouldn’t be an issue unless you plan on conquering some extremely curvy highways. For everyday commuting, it is perfectly capable.

Towing & Payload

2023 Infiniti QX60 - infinitiusa.com

The 2023 Infiniti QX60 can tow up to 6,000 pounds when properly equipped (AWD models). It also has a maximum payload capacity of 2,063 lbs.

The FWD versions can comfortably tow up to 3,500 lbs. This is comparable to the Acura MDX. If you’re planning on doing any towing, we would recommend opting for the AWD versions just to make things easier.

2023 Infiniti QX60 Fuel Economy & MPG

The 2023 Infiniti QX60 doesn’t come with any hybrid options like some of its competitors (Volvo, we’re looking at you). It also doesn’t stand out as the most fuel-efficient SUV in its class. Drivers get 21 MPG city/26 MPG highway for front-wheel drive models. If you opt for AWD, this goes down by 1 MPG.

The lack of a hybrid option is a bit of a letdown. It would certainly improve fuel efficiency and make the 2023 Infiniti QX60 a little easier on the wallet in the long run.

Interior, Comfort, & Cargo Space

The most rewarding feature of the 2023 Infiniti QX60 is the roomy cabin. It offers loads of room for passengers and cargo. Comfort is the prize, and the QX60 delivers.

Other than the incredible room, the interior is crafted of quality materials and even offers roof-mounted air vents to allow passengers in the second and third rows to get more airflow. The third row is easy to access and certainly more spacious than competitors. It offers 14.5 cubic feet of storage behind the third row. Fold down the rear seats and you get a whopping 75.4 cubic feet of luxurious storage.

While it will seat seven, we found that six passengers can be seated comfortably without feeling cramped. The Autograph trim provides second-row captain’s chairs instead of a bench seat which only adds to passenger comfort. The dual-zone automatic climate control is automatic and easy to use while providing air purification to all occupants.

The front seats are not as comfortable as we would have liked to have seen in a luxury SUV, but they do offer heating as well as power adjustment. They are also ventilated and offer a massage feature as an option. Rear heated seats are also an option. Now we’re talking luxury!

Entertainment & Technology

Drivers get a load of tech features with the 2023 Infiniti QX60. A 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system is standard with a 12.3-inch secondary gauge display as an option. The system is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

If you step up in the trim line, you’ll get features such as a 10.8-inch heads-up display and a 17-speaker Bose sound system. Wi-Fi is standard on all trims.

Safety Features

The 2023 Infiniti QX60 was awarded a “good” rating by the IIHS. It comes with a plethora of standard safety features such as lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist and forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking.

Adaptive cruise control is available as an optional feature. It takes data from the onboard navigation system and controls the vehicle’s speed in anticipation of changes in the road ahead.

Warranties

Infiniti offers warranties that are above average for its class. They offer a 6-year/70,000-mile powertrain warranty and a limited bumper-to-bumper warranty of 4 years/60,000 miles.

Complimentary maintenance is not scheduled, but it is covered for three years regardless of mileage.

What we think

2023 Infiniti QX60 - usa.infinitinews.com

Whether you buy or lease, the 2023 Infiniti QX60 should be a vehicle that you consider if you’re wanting a quiet, comfortable ride with luxurious appointments. It’s a sound choice that delivers the goods in a no-nonsense way.

The biggest caveat is that the power and handling are just not as good as we would have liked. It has underwhelming acceleration and boxy cornering. One could do much worse, however, and the quiet, smooth ride is certainly worth it. We feel that Infiniti should probably revisit the QX60 in 2024 and possibly offer a hybrid powertrain option to assist with the lackluster fuel economy.

If you want a spacious luxury SUV, go ahead and add the 2023 Infiniti QX60 to your list. For more information on new car incentives, click here.
